Bob Mosely - Pastor

I have the great privilege to be the Senior Pastor at First Church. I love teaching the word of God and applying it in practical ways to everyday life. I am a history nerd, so studying the 1st century milieu is something I thoroughly enjoy. I am thankful that God has placed me here.

I grew up not knowing about God’s love for me. Jesus began working in my family and I watched (in horror!) as one by one my brothers and my Mom came to know Him. God pursued me even though I was running from Him as fast as I could. Finally, His love broke my resistance and I surrendered to His grace. I have never been the same since.

My wife, Bev, and I were married in 1981. She has been my steady companion through the years and I cannot thank her enough for sticking with me. Bev and I love taking long rides on our motorcycle. We have had the joy of raising 5 kids.

Adam Ferry - Worship Leader

Music has always been a big part of my life.  I started playing drums when I was 12 years old, and loved it right away.  Eventually I learned guitar as well, and I've always loved singing.  I was part of the youth band at the church I grew up in, and then a few years after high school, I began leading worship there. I love the fact that I am able to use the talents and gifts that God has given me, to serve the church through leading worship.  My wife Erika and I, along with our son Micah and daughter Alexis, have been at First Church for about five years.  We love First Church, and we are excited to be a part of what God is doing in our church, and in our community. 

José Luna - Associate Pastor

I was born an raised in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Wise, VA where I spent 10 years working at Camp Bethel.

I am a program director and graphic designer with a passion for worship and discipleship.

I have a undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and will be continuing my pursuit of an MDIV through Liberty University Online. I spent a fair amount of time developing a college ministry at UVa-Wise called The Gathering and was also a full-time volunteer with Highlands Fellowship working with there as a Technical Producer for their Sunday services.

I enjoy spending time reading, playing guitar, blogging and drinking coffee (LOTS of it!), as well as hiking, and photography.

Robin Kilgore - Education & Outreach

Hi, my name is Robin Kilgore.  I’m a lifelong resident of the Peninsula and have attended First Church since I was a child.  I attended Liberty University and Christopher Newport University and currently work as a Registered Nurse for Riverside Health System. 

I have had the privilege of coordinating various children’s programs at First Church for the last 19 years.  It is a joy every Sunday morning to serve our First Church families, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do this alongside my husband, Jason and daughter, Madison.

Jason Kilgore - Treasurer

I grew up in First Church where I met my wife Robin and  where we’ve raised our daughter. We believe First Church is a special place that God uses to exemplify the good news of Jesus Christ.  Over the last decade, I led the effort to finance, build, and relocate First Church to Port Warwick.  I’m currently focused on long-term strategy and financial planning to ensure that First Church will continue for the next generation.  I’m focused on long-term strategy and financial planning to ensure that First Church will continue for the next generation.

Professionally, I am the Director for Business Process Innovation at Riverside Health System where my team and I focus on improving system-wide processes for the benefit of our patients and team members. I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in finance. In my spare time, I work with churches and non-profits in the area of growth and strategic planning. I enjoy spending time with Robin and playing golf. Our daughter Madison is a pre-med student at the University of Virginia.

Steve Morse - Trustee

I was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University.  My wife, Malinda, and I have been married for 39 years and have three children - Joel, Sam, and Jennifer - and two grand daughters - Ava and Ellina.  I am a retired accountant who enjoys reading history, watching football & basketball games, and taking long walks with my dog.  I have been a member of First Church since 1984.  What I like best about First Church is the great preaching, that we have a relaxed atmosphere that is welcoming & friendly to newcomers, and that we have so many young people & college students in attendance.
