Our Leadership

Bobby Larew

Senior Pastor

Hi! I grew up just outside Philadelphia, PA in a town named Warminster. I do not like onions, but I like onion rings. I do not like ranch dressing on a salad, but like it on buffalo chicken pizza.  I love swimming in the ocean, reading Bible commentaries, and spending time with my family.  My wife and I met in Michigan and got married in 2006.  We have four children: Jackson, Lily, Evelyn, and Cayden. The boys love sports and the girls love dance and for some reason Papa John’s pizza is the only pizza everyone can agree on eating together.  Besides that, I have been a pastor since 2001 serving churches in various roles as a Youth Pastor, interim Children’s Director, Worship Director, and Ministry Pastor. From 2004-2008 I took a detour to Nashville, TN to pursue a career in the Christian music industry where I met some really great people and music artists. In everything I do my heart longs to point people to Jesus as they navigate the joys, sorrows, and questions of life. I hope to meet you soon and look forward to serving you.

José Luna

Associate Pastor

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, before moving to Wise, VA, where I spent ten years serving at Camp Bethel in various roles including as Maintenance Director and Program Director. I earned my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Temple Universitry and later pursued a Master of Divinity through Liberty University.

While living in Wise, I launched a college ministry called The Gathering at UVA-Wise and volunteered at Highlands Fellowship, where I served as a Technical Producer for Sunday services. Worship and discipleship are deep passions of mine, and I strive to lead others through encouragement, creativity, and servant-hearted leadership. In 2018, I joined First Church as Associate Pastor, where I continue to serve the congregation through teaching, pastoral care, and outreach.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing guitar, drinking (lots of) coffee, hiking, photography, and rebinding Bibles.

Adam Ferry

Worship Leader

Music has always been a big part of  Adam’s life, from learning to play the drums at age twelve, to expanding his musical talents through singing and playing the guitar. After playing in the youth band at his home church, Adam began leading worship after graduating from high school.

Adam is passionate about using his gifts to lead worship and committed to guiding the congregation in a meaningful worship experience.

Adam is blessed to serve alongside his wife, Erika and their children, Micah and Alexis. Adam and his family are excited to be a part of what God is doing at First Church and the surrounding community.

Robin Kilgore

Interim Administrator
Director of Children & Family Ministries

Robin is a lifelong resident of the Peninsula and began attending First Church at a young age. A graduate of Riverside School of Nursing and Christopher Newport University, she now serves the local community as a Registered Nurse.

In addition to her professional career, Robin has played an integral role in First Church’s leadership, helping to shape the church’s focus and direction. With a deep commitment to nurturing young hearts and supporting families, she has spent the last 25 years building meaningful connections within the church community and coordinating programs that encourage children and their families to grow in their faith and experience the joy of God's love.

She is honored to serve alongside her husband, Jason and thankful for their daughter, Madison, both who share the same commitment to the local church and its ministries.

Heidi Dittmar

First Impressions

Heidi grew up as a preacher’s kid, watching her parents serve in the church and often stepping into leadership roles during her youth. After moving to Virginia, finding a church where she truly fit in proved challenging, but discovering First Church in 2008 felt like a gift from God. Heidi describes FCM as a fantastic and fun place to serve alongside friends who have become family.

Heidi graduated from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. Having met her husband, Bill, over 30 years ago, the two have been partners in life and business ever since. They currently coach and train business owners, leaders, and the transitioning Special Operations Forces community.

Passionate about fitness and the outdoors, Heidi also enjoys cozying up with a good book when the opportunity arises.
