Exodus 34:33-35

[33] When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face. [34] But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, he would remove the veil until he came out. And when he came out, he would tell the Israelites what he had been commanded, [35] and the Israelites would see that the face of Moses was radiant. So Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 2:12-18

[12] Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. [13] We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at the end of what was fading away.

[14] But their minds were closed. For to this day the same veil remains at the reading of the old covenant. It has not been lifted, because only in Christ can it be removed. [15] And even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. [16] But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

[17] Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. [18] And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Purpose of the Law:

“Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith” (Galatians 3:24).

1. The Impairment of Israel: 3:13-14a

“And are like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away. But their minds were hardened.”

2. The Ignorance of Unbelief: 3:14

“For until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted because it is removed in Christ. But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; ”

3. The Inclusion of All Believers: 3:16,18

“But whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is take taken away…but we all with unveiled faces.”

4. The Illustration of the Mirror: 3:18b

“Beholding as in a mirror.”

“Beloved, now are we are the children of God and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is” (1 John 3:2)

5. The Image of the Lord: 3.18c

“The glory of the Lord, (We) are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord.”

For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6)
